Public commission in the form of 3 landmarks made from prefabricated traffic signs, reshaped and powder coated. The landmarks unite the school, library and sports hall across Børneby Augustenborg.

 

TRANSFORMATIONS” is a series of striking sculptural works that, through play with color, fantasy and humor, rise above the asphalt of everyday life. The sculptures are made of prefabricated traffic signs, reshaped, painted and placed in formations that detach them from their original function and cause them to transform before our eyes into new figures that call for both recognition and interpretation. A form of realism that tears a hole in our picture of reality and makes us see the world in a new way.

The sculpture group MIRROR BOUQUET marks the entrance to the school and at the same time points towards the sports field. It is a candy-striped, bubblely sculpture, constructed of traffic mirrors and re-shaped sign stands. The curved mirrors reflect the surroundings and passers-by in funny distortions, as we know from amusement parks. STEM AND BUD occupies the space between the sports hall and the parking lot. It sprouts up and breaks the asphalt. With its red-pink-orange display of color, it lights up the prosaic area and  spreads optimism and new energy. At the library you are welcomed by the sculpture group ARROW, with its three “tree trunks” and  triangular “leaves” in shades of blue and green it sways in a rhythmic dance across the lawn.
